They’re giving it their best shot.
With the Smith Center for the Performing Arts facing a $20 million loss in 2020 from 350 cancelled or postponed shows due to Covid-19, staff and supporters are taking on a new role: fundraising.
“The Smith Center needs community support more than ever,” said Myron Martin, president and CEO of the eight-year-old Smith Center, a non-profit.
A wide net is being cast through the support of Facebook fundraising..
The worst pandemic in a century resulted in a state-mandated closure that was announced on March 13.
Especially hard hit was the Smith Center’s student matinee program for 80,000 students a year at no cost to the schools
Due to the pandemic uncertainty, the Smith Center has not been able to establish a reopening date.
Please join us in contributing to the Smith Center in this challenging time by creating your Facebook fundraiser page at www.facebook.com/fundraisers.
