HALF A MILLION VIEW O.J.’S TWITTER FEED IN FIVE HOURS

O.J. Simpson announced on Friday he’s going to take his “thoughts and opinions” to Twitter, teasing his entry into social media by saying “I got a little getting even to do.”

Five hours after the video was posted, it had received more than a half million views and almost 10,000 likes.

The NFL great, who turns 72 on July 9, made the announcement two days after the 25th anniversary of savage double murders of his wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ron Goldman on June 12, 1994. Their slashed bodies were found outside Brown’s condominium in Brentwood.

Simpson was acquitted of two counts of murder on Oct. 3, 1995 in what was billed as “The Trial of the Century.” It went on for a year and became one of the most-watched television events in U.S. history, making it what was described as the most publicized criminal trial in history.

He was back in the headlines in September, 2007 when he was charged with robbery and kidnapping after a confrontation over his sports memorabilia at Palace Station hotel and casino in Las Vegas.

On October 1, 2017, he was released from the Lovelock Correctional Center after serving nine years.

Since then he has made Las Vegas his home base. He is a regular on the Summerlin restaurant scene and was besieged by fans while drinking at a bar in the V.I.P. venue during the April 14 debut of the Las Vegas Ballpark, home of the Oakland A’s Class AAA Las Vegas Aviators farm team.

In a recent interview with the Associated Press office in Las Vegas, Simpson said he and his family decided they were not going to “relive the worst day of our lives.

“The subject of the moment is the subject I will never revisit again.”

He added he and his family have “moved on to what we call the ‘no negative zone.’ We focus on the positive.”

His announcement that he had “a little getting even to do” seemed to contradict what he said in the interview.

On the video, Simpson said, “Hey Twitter world. This is yours truly. Now coming soon to Twitter you’ll get to read my thoughts and opinions on just about everything. Now there’s a lot of fake O.J. accounts out there so this one at TheReal0J32 is the only official one. So it should be a lot of fun. I got a little getting even to do, so God Bless and take care.”
